Excr: Apparition of a Confused Victim

Thade stared, dumbfounded at the sky as white flakes fell with grace and poise that was so alien to this world. He was uneasy because of it. Calm. Calm didn’t exist in this world. It was quiet, sound muffled by the thick flakes that coated the city. The fighting slowed to a stop as all the kids paused in their bloodthirsty endeavor to look upwards. Thade frowned, blinking the blood from his eyes as he turned from the sky to the scene before him. The sudden appearance of the soft white flakes had completely interrupted the battle that had been raging for hours. Both gangs fell into a silent truce to watch their world disappear into gray and white. The soothing white gently covered the streets, buildings, and children with tenderness akin to a mother’s love, enveloping them all in a sense of calm and clear thought. It was wrong. Such calm didn’t exist in this world. There was only Chaos.
